dinocopter
Formed in early 2000, Dinocopter formed out of jams at the Raintree Cafe in Waterloo. Originally a trio featuring Scott Wicken on guitars and vocals and a rhythm section of Paul McInnis on drums (and mandolin) and James Craig on bass, Dinocopter was a roots rock band with tinges of country and reggae, blues and hard rock. Later, a secondary guitar and a bit of saxophone were introduced by the addition of Brent Hagerman (of The Jolly Llamas). Songs were written by Wicken. One CD was produced by Dinocopter, Helisaur which featured studio tracks as well as live tracks from a gig at The Jane Bond in Waterloo.
Eventually, the incredibly viral members of Dinocopter started having children and rehearsals and shows became a scheduling nightmare so the band petered out. Life is a wonderful grand series of events in which sacrifices must be made, I suppose. Enough philosophy. Some of the members of Dinocopter still get together and play music and there will be at least a partial reunion at some date.
